BURTONWOOD showed great teamwork to shock Rylands with two well-taken tries in the first five minutes.
Sharks did well to rally for the remainder of the game and narrowly lost by two points after only converting three from their seven tries.
Rylands again shared the scoring with tries from Jordan Rawes, three, Tom Lee, Sam Brinksman, two and Andy Matcalfe. Kicks were converted by Sam Brinksman, Andy Metcalfe and Adam Daly.

A SPIRITED second half fightback by the Sharks was not enough to overturn a 16-0 half-time deficit against a well-organised Portico side.

A TREMENDOUS try-saving tackle from Jack Conlon as Latchford held a slender lead proved crucial in this highly entertaining contest.
Try scorers were Ben Reynolds, two, Joe Mellor, four and an in-form Kyle Dearden. They were well supported in attack by Jay Dobson, Dominic Lawry and Chris Hall.
In addition to Jack Conlon, top defensive efforts came from Robert Bryant, Jamie Price and Antony Brittan.
The lively Jason Harmon impressed on his debut while Paul Jones, Ross Pendlebury and Emma Bell all worked hard.

DEFENCES were on top for most of this game with Crosfields holding a narrow 4-0 lead at the break thanks to two Paul Oultram penalties.
St Pats edged ahead mid-way through the second half with a converted try and that looked to be enough to have clinched the game.
Soap stuck to their task and snatched victory in the closing stages with tries by Chris Arnold and Daniel Mutton. Oultram and Ian Stephenson added the goals.

CROSFIELDS' pre-season preparation culminated in their fourth successive victory.
Superior ball skills combined with skill and strength helped them dominate from the start and it was only in the latter part of the game that Woolston were able to score most of their points.
