Warrington RUFC 85
Cockermouth 3
COCKERMOUTH proved poor opposition as Warrington easily registered their third consecutive league victory.
A penalty goal from Cockermouth in response to an early try by Jim Keulemans was all the visitors had to offer.
In a professional, positive display of 15-man rugby, Warrington scored 50 points before half-time through tries from Gez Louden, Neil Jackson, Andy Higginson, Sean Geritas and Anton Fields, plus a hat-trick from Keulemans. Andy James added five conversions.
Cockermouth's damage limitation at the beginning of the second half only spurred Warrington to a further monopoly of possession, resulting in tries for Geritas, James, two, Jackson and Louden, all converted by James.
Chris Myers caught the eye with his speed from full back and Andy Kellett was the pick of a formidable pack.
Warrington's match at Sandbach tomorrow, Saturday, has been moved to October 23 and has been replaced by a friendly against opposition to be arranged.
Their second team reamin unbeaten after a 76-0 win against Broughton Seconds and the thirds went down 54-3 against a strong Oldham side.
