WARRINGTON karate sensation Ross Lawton is ready to do battle for England after being selected for his country's World Under 21s Championship squad.
The 16-year-old, who trains at Cheshire Martial Arts Centre and will take part in the Kata section, earned his place in the side for the tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria on October 31 with a win at the English Championships earlier this year.
And he warmed up in style with another success in the British Shukokai Open Championships at the weekend.
He was well-supported by clubmate Michelle Hey, who won four gold medals at the event for individual fighting, individual Kata, team fighting and team Kata.
On the back of the success the team will fly to Malaga for a Spanish inter-club tournament.
