THE daring antics of a wartime woman determined to wear the trousers is still the talk of many an RAF Burtonwood reunion.
Teresa Smith was so keen to be with her American boyfriend on the base, back in the 1950s, she tied up her blonde hair, disguised herself as a man and went to live on the base! She managed to walk around the base unnoticed for a week.
Her bold actions have intrigued members of the Burtonwood Association who are keen to track her down and add her unique recollections to their Heritage Centre.
