DETERMINED cancer patient Martyn Vujovich spoke to Penketh High school pupils last week to raise awareness of Testicular Cancer.
Martyn, aged17, a former pupil of Penketh's Design Technology teacher Cliff Seggie, was diagnosed as suffering from cancer at the age of 15. Since then he has battled courageously through advanced cancer treatments and major operations, and is now on the road to recovery.
He talked frankly to the Year 11 pupils, explaining how he discovered he had the disease and describing his subsequent treatment and recovery.
The group was joined by a camera crew which is filming Martyn for a documentary series looking at sensitive health issues.
Cliff Seggie said: "The pupils were able to relate to Martyn and were willing to listen because he is of the same age."
Laurna Richardson, a nurse based at Manchester's Christie hospital, talked about breast cancer to girls of the same age.
