EXPERTS will discuss the problems faced by the children of alcoholic parents at a unique conference in Warrington today, Friday.
Organised by Warrington Action Towards Community Health, the conference will feature speakers from the fields of alcohol abuse and child care. The event aims to encourage a multi-agency approach to the plight of children whose parents are problem drinkers.
The morning session will focus on talks delivered by the authors of publications by Alcohol Concern, Child Care and the Merseyside and Cheshire Alcohol Service. The afternoon session will be structured around five workshops organised by borough council and health care executives.
By the end of the day, it is hoped that the foundations of an action plan will be in place to address the problems, both immediately and over the next two years.
The invitation only conference takes place at Warrington Collegiate Institute.
