IT WILL be the biggest picture ever staged in Halton.

Everyone who lives in Hale village is being invited to pose with Britain's tallest man.

Christopher Greener - 7ft 6 ins - is stepping into the shoes of the Childe of Hale - as part of the village's millennium celebrations.

He will be dressed in the traditional clothes of the legendary John Middleton for a weekend of special events on Sunday.

Villagers are being invited to go to the park at 2pm where a professional photographer will capture a historic shot for the family album. The picture will form the centre piece of Hale's millennium calendar.

Christopher, posing as Hale's most famous son, will be arriving in style at 10.30am in a horse and carriage.

He will tour the village, following the footsteps of this famous figure who now lies buried in Hale church graveyard.

Christopher Greener has appeared in films and dozens of TV programmes.

The event has been organised by Hale Millennium Celebrations Committee.
