Wigan u11 Town Team 20

NOT one Widnes player took a backward step, and it wasn't until the final five minutes when the sheer size of the Wigan players fully wore down the Widnes boys and Wigan scored 10 points.

The score at half-time was only four points to nil in Wigan's favour, and Widnes could easily have equalled that with a little luck.

Widnes' tactics, with a simplified game-plan were spot-on, and mention goes to Scott Yates, Adam Ball, Craig Millington, Dayne Donoghue and Scott Flanagan.

Unfortunately, as the Widnes boys tired, it was their defence that let them down.

Tiredness it undoubtedly was that led to Widnes not being able to "kill the ball" in the tackle, allowing Wigan ample scope for second and third phase plays.

But there was a lot of good in this game for those connected with Widnes, and there is no doubt that this team will get better and better.
