TWO masked men smashed their way through a post office counter window and made off with a substantial amount of cash on Monday afternoon.

The raid took place just after closing time at the post office in Halebank. The postmaster was alone and was confronted by two men who smashed through the security screen and made off with a sum of money.

The robbers were then driven away by a third man in a stolen green Audi car.

The first man was white and in his late 20s, wearing a white stocking mask and a dark top. The other was wearing a blue windcheater jacket, white shirt and a dark balaclava. The driver was in his late teens, of stocky athletic build and wearing a red top with yellow stripes.
