THE future of Runcorn Football Club is still hanging in the balance since Widnes-based Morbaine withdrew its plans last week - but club directors are determined to play on.
They want to relocate using money raised from development on their 80-year-old home but as yet no suitable bidder has come forward.
Dave Robertson, chairman of Runcorn FC, said he was not prepared to throw the towel in just yet and added that the club was in serious talks with potential sponsors and developers.
He said: "The club is continuing to explore alternatives for development, and we are involved in talks with regard to the future of the club but we do need a considerable amount of money to carry on.
"At the moment, were focusing on winning games. There's a lot going for the club and we're certainly not ready to throw in the towel just yet.
"We want to gain promotion into the football conference and into the football league.
"As chairman, I'd like to make this club more and more successful, and for it to be seen as the shining light of Runcorn and the Football League.
"We are discussing plans at the moment and I hope this can happen."
