A WINSFORD chef has beaten off stiff competition to become the Robinsons' Chef of the Year.
Philip Miller is a chef at The Smoker, Plumley, and entered the competition along with entrants from 450 other pubs that Robinsons own.
Each chef had to create an original recipe that included pork, rice, and Robinsons' beer.
Philip delighted judges with a casserole dish with kiwi fruit and sun dried tomato and called it Pork de Tabley.
Each entry was judged on paper with the six finalists travelling to Milton Keynes to cook their recipe for a panel of eight judges.
Philip won the first prize of £500 and a Chef of the Year Certificate. He said: "I've never had a chance to enter something like this before. It's a real achievement for me and I'm over the moon about it."
