THE NATIONAL finals of the Miss Hawaiian Tropic contest took place last Saturday - with strong competition from our own Miss Winsford, Alexandra Bell.
Alexandra, crowned Miss Winsford in August, was one of 30 chosen from 1,000 photographic entries to compete in the finals in Nottingham.
Judges from the fashion industry came from all over the country to select a winner to go through to the international stage of the competition in Hawaii.
After swim-wear, evening wear and interview rounds Alexandra was one of 10 glamour girls short-listed.
But when the nail-biting decision was reached Alexandra came in second.
Alexandra said: "Although I was disappointed not to win, I was very pleased to have come second. I'm now looking forward to representing Winsford with shop openings and turning on the Christmas lights."
