IT seems a pity that the trees on London Road have to be felled, as their presence gives beauty to the road.
Could these trees not be topped and thinned by an expert, rather than be felled and lost for all time?
May I point out that there is as much need for action on the other side of the road.
The big houses on the hill have allowed their trees, shrubs and particularly their holly bushes to grow right out over the already narrow path.
People have to duck and weave to get past, and have every chance of being scratched or having their eyes damaged, and have to step out into the road.
Could the council or the garden owners please cut back these over-grown plants, before they cause someone some damage.
Before I start a riot of abusive letters, I stress cut back, not remove!
As a great garden lover I appreciate their beauty, but every shrub and tree benefits from a hair cut sometimes.
