KNYPERSLEY Vics edged out Kings Norton Town on Saturday in a seven-goal thriller which kept fans on the edge of their seats to the final whistle.

The Vics were looking to get back to winning ways in their home league clash after going out of the Staffs Senior Cup in midweek at Blakenall.

The Kings Norton match was tied at 1-1 at the interval, with little indication of the second half drama to come as the Vics ran out 4-3 victors.

Kings Norton shot wide on 25 minutes, only for the Vics to go straight upfield to take the lead.

James beat a defender in the box before slipping the ball past the advancing keeper for Dutton to tap into an empty net.

Powner pulled off an excellent save at a forward's feet on 32 minutes, and a Kings Norton player headed just over in the 40th minute.

The away side drew level as half-time approached when Dunn smashed home a shot from 25 yards into the top corner.

Kings Norton made it 2-1 13 minutes into the second half when Dunn connected with a cross to fire home.

However the Vics came straight back to make it 2-2 Bedson smashed the ball into the far corner.

The pendulum swung Knypersley's way on 70 minutes when a James corner found Shallcross, who headed back across goal for Shenton to head in.

Powner kept Kings Norton out with a fantastic save seven minutes later, arching back to tip a header over the bar.

Knypersley went 4-2 up with five minutes left when Redgate saw his shot blocked. However Poxon nipped in to round the keeper and score.

Kings Norton were still not beaten, and made it 4-3 two minutes later when they chipped Powner from 20 yards out.
