BIDDULPH town crier John Robinson lifted a major trophy when he earned second spot in a national championship.
Mr Robinson scored his runners-up success at a contest held in Hastings, Sussex, which attracted 37 criers from across the country.
He performed a home town cry and a second about the battle of Rourkes Drift in the Zulu war, and won a cup and £150 for his efforts.
