RAY Fisher and Chris Maguire of Bank Quay Social Club turned in an impressive display to win the £300 cash prize and trophies in the Carlsberg pairs dominoes competition on Sunday.

They lost only one leg throughout the last eight stages and defeated Albion's Peter Slater and Barry Stanley combination 3-0 in the final. The losers had the satisfaction of a £150 cash plus trophies as consolation as Carlsberg paid out a record £650 prize pool.

In the Greenall and Inn Partnership league after five weeks there are only a few unbeaten sides.

London Bridge and Railway Latchford of Division One and Warrington Transport A and Golden Lion in Division Three are the only unconquered teams.

Bridge were pushed all the way to gain a share of the spoils at Bulls Head B this week and every one of the 15 legs had to be played in a very tightly-fought match.

S. and J. Lightfoot played out of their skins to win the match for Rylands A against Monks in the last leg and Warrington Town, beaten at home by Alford Sports, are the only team in Division One without any points.

Warrington Cons A beat Deaf Social in Division Two and not only gained their first points of the season but it was the first match in which more than one of their pairs had won.

Golden Lion preserved their unbeaten tag and in doing so condemned Padgate St. Oswalds A to their first losing money. It was the same bitter taste for Woolston Legion A after they had been chopped down to size at Black Bear.

Mulberry Tree and Stag Inn both lost their first matches in Division Four but, along with Howley Hotel, are the front runners at this stage.
