Padgate St. Oswalds 0

Rylands FC 2

RYLANDS deservedly won the 'derby' with Mid-Cheshire League third-placed Padgate on Saturday thanks to well rehearsed set piece moves.

With both sides keen in the tackle, chances were at a premium but Rylands eventually took the lead when Neil Selby rose head and shoulders above everyone to head home an Astbury free kick.

With Padgate pushing forward after the break Rylands defended doggedly but increased their lead when Brophy rose to head home Taylor's corner.

Neil Adir tipped a long-range effort over and Padgate were offered a chance when they were awarded a penalty with 10 minutes to go but Dawson scuffed his shot wide.

Tomorrow, Saturday, Rylands are home to Whitchurch Alport, kick-off 3pm.
