TEACHERS, parents and pupils at Penketh High School have pulled together to make school bus journeys more harmonious.
Earlier this year, bus operators threatened to withdraw their services after a minority of pupils caused disruptions on the way to and from school.
There were complaints of abusive behaviour and damage to the buses including ripped seats.
Since then, the school, parents and bus operators have been working together to improve the situation.
Staff are travelling with pupils whenever possible and a small number of pupils have been excluded from the service.
Parents met with teachers and bus operators at the school this week to discuss the improvents made and what more could be done.
Senior teacher David Lloyd said: "People have noticed the change and parents have become involved in a very positive way. We want our children's journeys to and from school to be safe, comfortable and relaxed."
