SOUTH Cheshire Health Authority's view is that there is no risk to public health - because there is no evidence to suggest there is.
But the authority's Dr Guy Hayhurst welcomed Dr Murray's report, and says his group will probe the issues it raises straight away.
He said: "It does indicate that a number of potential threats to public health need to be investigated further.
"Her wide ranging recommendations identify further actions that need to be taken."
These include:
Identifying any changes in the symptoms reported by patients and setting up an early warning system to any potential illnesses caused by future excavations
Investigating whether any local residents have been exposed to a situation where asbestos could have posed a risk to health.
"We fully accept these recommendations, and are acting on them without delay," Dr Hayhurst added.
