THREE primary schools in Winsford have received awards in a national scheme to raise educational standards.
Leaf Lane Infants, Wharton CE Junior and Darnhall Primary schools have each been awarded a Basic Skills Quality Mark accredited by the Basic Skills Agency, which looks after educational standards in England and Wales.
The award has been achieved by only three per cent of primary schools nationally and an award ceremony was held at the town's Woodford Lodge Professional Centre.
Cheshire's Director of Education David Cracknell presented plaques to the schools' headteachers.
