A WINSFORD man has received a commendation from Thames Valley Police Chief Constable Charles Pollard for exceptional service to the police force.
PC Martin Percival attended Woodford Lodge High School and, after a spell in the Royal Airforce, now works as a police constable in Oxford.
He was called to the scene of a road accident where he quickly resuscitated a seriously injured four-month-old baby.
Chief Constable Pollard praised PC Percival for acting with great compassion and professionalism in distressing circumstances.
PC Percival's parents still live in Winsford and said: "Martin still has a lot of friends in the area and we are all very proud of what he did."
