ENTREPRENEURIAL pupils from Hebden Green School have taken their first steps to the top by setting up their own greetings card business.

Cards R Us is the name of the company which the level-headed youngsters are trying to get off the ground.

And they have already called their first board meeting to discuss action.

The proposed greeting card empire will be run from the school as part of the City and Guild Skills Power course the pupils are taking, this section being called Enterprise.

For the budding Bransons, it's all about business - serious business. Kirsty Dallow is the manager, along with assistant manager Tom Shannon, and secretary Dawn Delaney ensuring the office runs smoothly.

Accountant Vincent Harvey and quality control officer Fabian Obringer will also be keeping a close eye on the sales and profits.

The team is completed by advertising manager Sean Jones and refreshments supervisor Joanne Legry.

Award co-ordinator Ross Slade said: "They are required to set up a company on their own, with a management team which asks for funding.

"They have called a meeting with the deputy head of the school and invited two reps from Barclays Bank to look at their business plan and give advice.

"They are designing the cards themselves and working here to produce them, and the profits go in to the school funds.

"You never know, we could have some future millionaires!"
