ANTONY Shaw was awarded the highest accolades at Northwich Cricket Club's end-of-season presentation night at their new Moss Farm home.
Shaw received all three first-team trophies to mark a truly outstanding season.
He topped the batting with an average of 33.75 and a high score of 98, and also led the bowling with a season's haul of 31 wickets at an average of 11.41.
Shaw also received the player of the year award, while a special award was presented to Chas Robey, who came second in the batting awards, to mark his century innings.
In a year which has seen significant steps taken off the field to ensure the growth of the club, achievements on the field have been disappointing.
In his informal speech, chairman Rob Westworth pointed to the hard work done by his committee.
He said: "The contracts for the lease of the new ground, the section 106 and the ground and building work are almost ready to be signed.
"Now the hard work put in by the senior officers will need to be continued and expanded in order to provide the high standard of facility required for this club.
"It is also every member's responsibility to ensure that the standard of cricket played here will match the new ground and pavilion."
He added that Nick Shaw and Mike Rogerson, captains of the 1st and 2nd XIs respectively, had done an excellent job and he hoped that they would remain in their positions for next season.
President Martin O'Neil responded by thanking Rob for his leadership.
He said that he was disappointed in the way some of the players had approached the season and thought that the core of talent within the club was capable of achieving more.
