NANTWICH churches are lining up a Christmas Day lunch for anyone likely to be on their own during the festive season.
The meal will be served in the Central Methodist Church, Hospital Street and a pleasant afternoon is being planned to follow.
The churches have joined forces for a similar venture for the past few years, providing a festive day for all people living in and around the town who have no-one to share with and who would otherwise be alone.
"Many of us are already planning our activities for the festive season and look foward to a few days spent in the company of family and friends. For many people, unfortunately, the Christmas season only reminds them of how alone they are," said organiser Mrs June Garner.
The invitation is open to people of all donominations (or none).
For catering and transport purposes the organisers need to know in advance who would like to go.
If any reader would like to join the festivities or knows of someone to whom an invitation could be sent they are asked to contact Mrs Garner, 9 South Crofts, Nantwich, CW5 5SO or call 624558. Please call before December 10.
There is no charge for the meal and transport can be arranged if necessary.
Donations or gifts in kind from local organisations, businesses or individuals will be appreciated.
