SEVERAL incidents marked the action in this week's Greenall and Inn Partnership Dominoes League matches.
Warrington Town's referee was red carded in the fourth match at Railway Latchford. All teams must ensure their referee is competent in every respect but the Railway maintained their unbeaten record and left Town still searching for their first points.
A London Bridge player who most certainly should know better thought his 30 spots on two dominoes in the second leg of the first pairing would be too high in the count and offered a hand shake to his opponent, was refused and then found his partner's three-spot count enough to see them level and then take the opener against Rylands A.
Rylands set up a 4-2 lead at the interval but paid the price of leaving a host of talented players on the sidelines as Bridge took the points when Alec Hickey and Archie Wilcock won their fourth in five matches to keep London Bridge's unbeaten record.
Totally contrary to the form so far this season Albion registered a shock win over Orford A at Gorsey Lane when their last pair of W. Johnson and F. Gordon were victorious.
Bulls head A only had one losing pair against Warrington Transport B and it was a case of self-inflicted injury as Billy Wrench played two joeys in two separate legs.
Richmonds notched their fourth win on the trot by beating Warrington Cons A but their neighbours at Pierpoints are sending a bright start to the season flickering after Jasmine had beat them at home.
Warrington Transport A suffered their first defeat of the season when beaten by Padgate St. Oswalds A and Stag Inn rallied from 0-4 to win at home to Saracens Head.
This Sunday's Thwaites Charity Team Knockout competition games are as printed in last week's GUARDIAN and Prince of Wales, the winners of preliminary round game, will play Woolston Legion A this Sunday.
Teams are reminded that the proceeds for their matches must be submitted on Sunday night and those teams which did not enter must settle their debts arising from their absence without undue delay.
