TERRY Sheen shone bright to kick-start Pickering against Golden Lion but it was all in vain.

He won in 19 against M. Cooper in the Grappenhall Darts League but Lion won the next five games. B. Watson, of Lion, won in 13, H. Turner, 20, B. Heaton, 20 and S. Tatlock, 25 darts, helped to make it 5-1. The final score was 6-3 to Lion.

ESMA's Bob Hassall, 14 darts and Tommy Horan, 15 darts, stood out in the 6-3 win over Mul who had an understrength team.

The bottom two teams ESMB and Manor, without a win between them this season, met head on. It was a disappointing match and when at 4-4 the best game arrived for Manor when S. Worthington won for them in 35 darts.

Paul Oxley did 17 and Pete Rowles 18 as Star beat Greenalls 6-3..

Lymm Legion had a tight match with the champions GTLB. The B team won the first two games but Lymm fought back to 3-2 with wins from D. Porter, 20, J. Entwistle 22 and Dot McKeswick, 26 darts. A. Mainwaring with a 15-darter made the score 3-3 for the B team. The match finished at 5-4 to GTLB.

From 2.5-2.5, Bull pulled away from Farmers with wins by J. Holt, 14 and P. Gamble, 24 darts and went on to win 6.5-2.5.

Fleece had a good match against Barn Owl. R. Hadland had a 15 darter to start the Fleece off. Barn Owl won the next three games through D. Welsh 16, W. Holt 17 and A. Holt, 18. The match finished 6-3 for Barn Owl.

GTLA lost 4-5 to GYCA. J. Smith won in 15 for GTLA but R. Lowton, 20 and A. Coulthard, 17, put GYCA 3-2 ahead. The match went to 4-4 when A. Carmon won in 17 darts for GYCA.
