Sefton started in determined fashion with their forwards dominating all the loose play and soon built up a 0-27 lead.
Moore were unable to find any cohesion and as the players became frustrated by being continually driven backwards, what little ball they did win was marred by a series of handling errors.
Their only points in the first half came from an Ian Allen interception try but in the second half Moore found their composure.
With the forwards battling hard to win clean ball in the tight and the loose the backs were allowed to probe and test the Sefton defence.
After pressurising the Sefton line Bob Sanchez broke through to score a try converted by Ian Williamson to reduce the deficit to 12-27.
Moore continued to take the game to Sefton, whose forwards were unable to match Moore in open play and resorted to killing the ball.
This tactic worked and against the run of play Sefton crossed the whitewash. Undeterred Moore kept their heads up and were rewarded with a second try from Ian Allen.

MOORE raced into a 15 - 0 lead within the first twenty minutes of the game with tries from Richards and Carter.
They relaxed their grip on the game and allowed Sefton to fight their way back with three tries but a late penalty from Dignum sealed the win for Moore. Ian Hunter was man of the match with a solid performance.
The third team lost 52-24 to Sefton Thirds in their first match this year.
