WARRINGTON Rowing Club men's senior two crew maintained their season's unbeaten record.
The crew comprising of Neil Shaw, Matt Tessier, Richard Bardon, Mike Ledger and cox Angela Bardon, raced in Chester at the weekend.
The long distance time trial held over 4,500 metres of the River Dee attracted competition from all over Great Britain, with crews travelling from as far a field as Stourport and Edinburgh.
Warrington men rose to the occasion and rowed an excellent race to secure a superb victory for their club.
The women's senior two crew comprising of Anita Marr, Sian Henrys, Jo Edwards, Gill Lee and cox Steve Coxon were not quite as successful but put in a very strong performance.
Their time was not good enough to win against such tough opposition and neither was Nigel Wilkinson and Mike Leger's time in the senior two doubles.
Warrington's Sian Henrys, rowing as a substitute for the top north west club Agecroft, had an extremely successful row to win the prestigious women's senior one eight's event.
As part of the winning team Sian helped the Manchester club row the fastest women's time of the whole event.
Winter training continues in Warrington on the River Mersey by Kingsway Bridge in Latchford. The next event for the club will be the Northwich Head Race on the River Dane on November 13.
