FORMER Halifax Town striker Terry MacPhillips is the latest target of Middlewich Town manager Dave Twite.
He will be contacting the experienced striker to try and secure his services after a recommendation from Town midfielder Paul Bennett.
However, Twite is happy with the quality of the players already at Seddon Street, despite their 2-0 defeat at second-placed Garswood United on Saturday.
Middlewich remain third in the Mid-Cheshire League Division One table and Twite was pleased with the performance against the fellow promotion contenders.
He said: "We started well and missed some chances to take the lead, but I was still confident at half-time.
"Football-wise I thought we were better, but we needed somebody who could win a few tackles and we didn't have that. We tried to play too much football on a heavy pitch."
The steel should return to midfield for the trip to Wilmslow in the Cheshire Amateur FA Cup on Saturday. Darren Ingham and John Lewis are both back after being sidelined at Garswood.
Middlewich Town Reserves pulled off a fine 3-0 victory against Malpas Reserves, top of the Crewe and District League before the game. They play at Seddon Street on Saturday, against Winnington Reserves (2pm).
