MIDDLEWICH'S Round Table group will be giving pensioners a helping hand to get their Christmas shopping done this month.
The group will be taking elderly people - who would otherwise have difficulty getting out to find presents and gifts - to a late-night shopping session at The Potteries Centre in Hanley on Thursday, November 25.
Pick-up points will include:
The Golden Lion pub.
The Royal British Legion.
The Turnpike Inn.
The pick-ups start from 5.30pm.
Anyone interested in joining the party can book from today, Wednesday, by getting an application form from either Middlewich or Cledford post offices, The Salinae Centre, and the town's information centre. Places are limited, though, and there's a maximum limit of 250 people.
Organiser Steve Dean said: "This event has been enjoyed by many people over the past few years, and once again the shopping will be followed by refreshments and entertainment at The Stakis Grand Hotel in Hanley, before we return to Middlewich at around 10.45pm."
