A PENSIONER died on the roof of his house while carrying out some repair work - and was not discovered until the next day.
John Ulton, 73, had been working at his home in Chapel Lane, Moulton, last Friday when he became ill and died.
But he remained on the roof until a passer-by spotted him there at 9.45am the next day.
Firefighters from Northwich were called and managed to carry Mr Ulton down from the roof.
Paramedics were on hand to take him to hospital, but he had already died.
A police spokesman said: "He was up on the roof repairing it and it would appear he died there. He was left there overnight.
"It was not until the following morning that somebody spotted him and called us. The fire brigade was also alerted to help.
"He lived alone at the address, but we contacted relatives as soon as we could."
The cause of death is unknown at present.
