A FIGHT against forecourt crime at petrol stations has been taken on by Northwich police and the British Oil Security Syndicate.
They have teamed up to tackle the problem, using crime prevention and victim support.
Mark Antrobus, of Cheshire Police, said that CCTV is the key to catching this type of criminal.
"CCTV is more than just deterring crime by its sheer presence," he said. "It is essential if the police are to identify the criminal.
"Furthermore, the tape must be handled in accordance with evidential codes of practice so that it can be used in court to secure a conviction."
