Two weeks ago a letter to your sister paper, the Northwich Guardian, from someone complaining about his/her shopping being delayed by slow old people got seven indignant replies.
I will be interested to see how many the Knutsford Guardian gets to Ms Trenell's.
You had only five letters in last week against a total of 21 in the Northwich Guardian.
Do they write more letters there or are you more selective?
Perhaps we should try to raise the level of debate (as Lord Burford might have said as he jumped on to the woolsack!)
The best solution to our increasing problems with the French, and with the European Union in general, would be to get right out of it, get our country back, rejoin the world's true democracies (which the EU certainly isn't) and re-develop our genius as world traders unrestricted.
Do you agree? Replies invited.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Yes, unfortunately readers in Northwich do write more.
