EGERTON'S good form continued against Vale on Sunday as they cruised to an impressive 6-2 win.
Philip Cartner opened the scoring early in the first half and Egerton could have had a hatful by the time Chris Hardman added a second.
Just before half time, however, sloppy defending let the Vale forwards in to pull a goal back.
Scott Johnston added a third soon after the re-start and then Vale were unfortunate to have a man sent off.
The Egerton forwards then increased the pressure and Jonathan Enston scored twice before Andrew Jackson scored the goal of the match with a flying header.
Vale headed a consolation goal just before the final whistle.
Jackson and Cartner both produced good performances for Egerton, but the man of the match was Adam Shepherd for a strong performance in central defence.
