MORE than 100 young people have been invited to a special conference this week - to air their views.
It is all part of Youth Work Week aimed at offering youngsters aged 13 and over the opportunity to get involved in a range of exciting events and challenging activities.
Designing a millennium pizza, computer graphics, abseiling and rock climbing are just some of the many sessions on offer.
More than 600 young people have already replied to questionnaires asking for their preferences.
Internet taster sessions proved to be the most popular request, followed by dance, drama, music, poetry and photography.
The conference Our Future is being held at the AutoQuest stadium.
Youngsters will be able to talk to council officers and representatives from various organisations which provide services for young people.
A week of special activities has been organised at venues throughout Halton.
Everton coaches will offer football training advice for young women interested in soccer.
Computer design workshops will help youngsters create their own Christmas cards or CD covers.
Netball and hockey coaching will be available.
Spike Theatre Company will run drama workshops, with rehearsals for a special performance.
Director of education Graham Talbot said: "This programme offers young people in Halton exciting opportunities. I hope that everyone takes advantage of them, enjoys and learns from them."
