West Bank 48 Spring View 22.
THE Bank gained a fully deserved victory over bottom of the table Spring View with some enterprising open rugby culminating in nine home tries.
In the first half hour of the game, the Wiganers looked set for a shock result as the banks poor tackling saw View cross for three converted tries from Curless, Smith and Molyneux to lead 12-6.
The Bank's early points came from a try from loose forward Ian Connor, converted by scrum half Peter Leyshon.
The Bank then turned round with a 22-12 advantage following a purple patch in the final ten minutes of the half during which centre Tony Fillingham, full back Charlie Jones and winger Andrew Taylor crossed for superb tries, two of which substitute Danny Hale converted.
View narrowed the gap five minutes into the second half with a try from Sergeant, converted by Lloyd. The Bank forwards then got on top with Ian Connor outstanding and John Buckley, John Wilson and Peter Ratcliffe all impressing.
Good work from Buckley, Connor and substitute Mark French put Tony Fillingham over after ten minutes and tries from centre Steven King and Andrew Taylor soon followed.
On a rare break out of defence, View scrum half Devine went over, but the irrepressible Ian Connor raced over from 30 yards out to keep the Bank ahead.
In the final minutes, View lost their discipline and Sergeant had an early bath for illegal use of the elbow.
Danny Hale added his fifth goal of the day and Tony Fillingham was on the end of another flowing move to complete his hat trick and seal an emphatic Bank Victory.
