TEENAGE hooligans have been firing missiles at elderly residents in an old folk's home.
Youngsters aged 12-14 have been hurling golf balls through windows at Nazareth House in Ditton, Widnes.
Nuns say it is a miracle no-one has been hurt.
"If it hadn't been for our double glazing, several elderly people could have been seriously injured," Sister Francesca said.
"Young people are aiming golf balls from across the wall. If it carries on, someone will be seriously injured."
On several occasions, she said, elderly residents had been sitting just yards from the windows, relaxing in their bedrooms.
Several windows in bedrooms and a sitting room have been smashed.
Following the attacks, staff at Nazareth House have stepped up security.
They are appealing to local residents to be extra vigilant and alert the police if they see anyone acting suspiciously.
"We want to warn people about what is happening here," said Sister Francesca.
"These young people must be made aware of the consequences of their actions."
