NOT having noticed anything in the media, I should like to find out why, and when, the council approved Knutsford Road, between Latchford Village and Bridge Foot, for motor racing!
Traffic on this road, particularly on the dual carriageway sections east of Black Bear Bridge is getting ridiculous and extremely dangerous, and the average speed on this 30mph zone seems to be between 40 and 45mph. Vehicles, including HGVs, have recently overtaken me at speeds that can only be assessed as "insane''.
Every so often a mobile police traffic unit does monitor motorists here, and I am sure that the revenues resulting from this are most useful, while speeds do tend to become reduced - for about 24 hours. Why, oh why, can speed cameras (or even empty boxes!) with appropriate warning notices not be installed BEFORE one of the many pedestrians, usually older, who use the crosswalk at Victoria Park, are killed... or will action only be taken AFTER a fatality?
