THERE were several cracking games in Friday's Greenall and Inn Partnership Darts League programme - not least the match between New Alliance and Greenwood!
New Alliance came back from 2-3 down to win 5-4. Kevin White, 11, Ron Cooke, 13, Alan Delooze, 15 and Tom Gallop, 16, were in fine form for New Alliance but Tony Monks, 12, Mike Addison, 13 and Steve Monks, 17, ensured that Greenwood were always in with a shout.
Royal Oak Branch beat British Rail 5-4 at Knutsford Road despite Dave Wooldridge hitting a best of the night 10 darter.
It was one way traffic as Smithy's ran amok at Gas Social with George Halliwell, 17, leading the way.
After an even first half Hawthorne edged in front to win at Rose Inn while at Kings Club, Marquis were never likely to open their points tally as Ralph Dommett, 15 and Ron Hughes, 16, led Kings to victory.
King and Queen were all square with Imperial after Carl Taylor took the last legs for Imp and Red Lion were narrow winners over Rylands with Ian Wrench, 16 and Peter Edwards, 17, their match winners.
Four teams in Monday's Division Two still have 100 per cent records. These are King and Queen, Spa Brook, Rylands and Gas Social B.
T. Perry, 11 and B. Harrison, 14, were best for King and Queen this week as they cruised in against Bulls Head.
Peter Monks, 16, was best for Gas as they swamped St. Benedicts.
Peter Edwards with 13 shone for Spa Brook against Black Bear.
A. Regan, 13 for Imperial and Ron Hughes, 14, and K. Mitchell, 14, for Penketh Cons were others to show that the best throwers are not all in Division One.
Ronnie Cooke hit a best of the season eight darter for New Alliance as they beat a Poplars team which were far from disgraced but they could not match the finishing of Alliance. Archie Goodier, 12, Kevin White, 16, Brian Watson, 17 and Tom Gallop, 18, were all good winners for New Alliance.
Outclassed
Hawthorne had to survive a fine recovery by Dog and Partridge before Paul Dugdale wrapped up the points. Simon Cunningham, 14, George McCormick, 15 and Bill Bailey, 16, were Hawthorne's best and Mark Smalley, 15, was tops for Dog and Partridge.
Prince of Wales had their first win of the season as they pipped Red Lion and Smithy's were hammered by Gas Social A to defy all form and logic when the result last Friday night at Gas Social is considered.
Marquis are boasting a 100 per cent record in Division Three on Mondays and they outclassed Causeway this week.
They are one point clear of Seven Woods whose Kieron Stringer led the way with a 17 darter against Jolly Tanner. Dave Evans hit 13 for Tanner, who could so easily have taken the points.
Despite Ian Hall hitting a 17 darter Richmonds were humbled by Alford Sports.
