WOOLSTON were pushed hard by a well-trained Hindley squad. One hundred percent effort from Woolston allowed Alex Milbourne to score and convert their only try but Hindley looked impressive and ran in a host of tries through set moves.

AN excellent defensive display by Latchford kept them in the game until the last 10 minutes when Chorley edged away. Latchford's attacking play was excellent, scoring four tries from L. James, two, L. Feather and J. Andrews. They were well supported by T. Southworth, D. Ball, D. Cox, L. Haughton and T. Darbyshire.

LATCHFORD came off second best to a more experienced and well-drilled St. Judes outfit. Shortly after half-time Latchford led 14-12 with long range tries from Joe Mellor, two and Ben Reynolds, but St. Judes' ability to keep the ball alive led to some uncharacteristic Latchford errors which enabled the home side to take control.

WOOLSTON were unlucky to come away without the points as they played their best game of the season against a strong Ashton side. Strong running and hard tackling earned Ross Sayers the man of the match award, while strong tackling from Mike Milbourne and Jake Emmitt saw them named top tacklers. Try scorer was Andy Wright.

IN an excellent game of rugby Latchford showed some of their best attacking play. The scoring was opened by Latchford's Lee Mitchell but the second half started badly for the visitors with Judes taking control of the game, 16-4, with a further two tries. Mike Linaker scored in the corner and converted, then grabbed with a second try with the final pressure kick being the difference between the teams.

CROSFIELDS appeared disorganised in the first half and gave too much ball away to leave them trailing 4-6 at half-time.
