WARRINGTON Grange women's soccer team overcame illness and a lethargic first half performance to draw with Bolton Wanderers.

On 18 minutes Rachel Sweeney latched on to a through ball from Donna Devey and slotted a fine low shot past Bolton's 'keeper.

Grange then conceded, what is becoming alarmingly too often, a goal straight from the restart. Bolton scored again on 30 minutes to go 2-1 up.

Sweeney, who was excellent throughout, got the equaliser on 38 minutes with a powerful shot from an acute angle.

The second half saw Grange adopt a more attacking formation but they could not get the ball past the 'keeper who made several good saves.

Grange could still do with strengthening the squad as the winter kicks in and any interested new or former players can contact Wendy on 571092.

Next game is at home to Ambassadors on Sunday.
