Woodley Sports...1 Tetley Walker...0
A 58th minute controversial penalty converted by Derek Hall settled the game in favour of Woodley Sports who moved into fourth place in the First North Western Trains League Division Two.
An inconsistent referee shocked Tetley Walker when he pointed to the spot following two players colliding as they challenged for the ball.
Twelve minutes later he repeated the dose as a Woodley player fell over in the area. This time Hall's spot kick rebounded to safety after hitting the post.
Tetley almost took a first minute lead when Barry Edwardson broke clear but his shot flashed over the bar.
Matty Weardon went close for Woodley while Edwardson beat the 'keeper only to see his 38th minute shot hit the side netting.
Tetley had the better of the second half chances but, for the second week running, failed to score.
Team: Medland, Corns, Dermott, Trantum, Webster, Collins, Healey, Maher, Edwardson, Flood, Jones. Subs: Gwyther, Hodkinson, Hunt.
Tomorrow, Saturday, Tetley Walker visit Ashton Town in the Second Division Trophy, kick-off 2pm.
