WARRINGTON men's hockey team ground out a tremendous 4-4 draw against Deeside Ramblers.
Warrington were still complaining about the first goal's validity when Deeside increased their lead to 2-0 after five minutes.
They steeled themselves and soon gained control of the game. Chris Hart scored just before half-time.
In the second half Deeside had no answers to the driving runs of Nigel Stanhope and captain Ian Sleigh.
Hart scored his second to convert Warrington's domination. On a rare break, Deeside were awarded a penalty that only the official knew a reason for.
Good fortune alone maintained Deeside's lead before Sleigh screamed his shot high into the net. Another penalty corner combined with a cruel deflection threatened to leave Warrington pointless before Hart completed his hat-trick from close range.
In the final minutes, Sleigh tore through the Deeside defence only to be brought down crudely from behind while shooting. The officials failed to award the penalty.
Man of the match was awarded to Stanhope for a tremendous personal display that inspired Warrington's performance.
