WARRINGTON Schoolboys pulled off a coup this week with their first win for 16 years over arch-rivals and bogy team Wigan.

The under 11s Rugby League team also became the first team to defeat Wigan on their own patch for six years.

Assistant coach Norman Harrison was thrilled and paid tribute to all the development work which is taking place in the town.

He said: "The whole atmosphere about the game is changing in Warrington and it is playing a part in the success.

"The team tackled really well. The boys made one mistake for which they were punished when Wigan opened the scoring.

"But they played some very good football and the forwards off-loaded the ball really well in what was a great game to watch with a final result which was very rewarding."
