IN FORM Knypersley Vics made it eight wins out of nine on Saturday with a 2-1 league victory at Pelsall Villa.

The Vics were in confident mood, having beaten Pelsall in the League Cup recently, and were on the attack from the start.

James crossed for Shallcross to shoot just wide, and Brownsword saw his 27th minute drive from 20 yards dip just over the bar.

Knypersley took the lead a minute later when Leigh found Shallcross in the box with a free kick.

Shallcross knocked the ball onto Palin, who turned to drive a shot home.

From the restart the Vics attacked again, Stribling sweeping the ball wide to James,. who crossed to Thompson, whose header was kept out by the keeper's legs.

Knypersley felt hard done to five minutes before half time when Pelsall were awarded a penalty.

A long ball into the Vics's box was headed goalwards, and caught Nicely on the arm.

Knypersley keeper Powner was sent the wrong way by the penalty.

However the Vics fought back to score the winner on the hour from a move involving Brownsword, Shallcross and Poxon.

Poxon squared the ball to Palin at the far post, and he had the simple task of tapping home.

Powner kept out a 20-yard drive on 68 minutes, and Dutton should have sealed the game for Knypersley in the dying minutes.

However the chance was lost when he opted to pull the ball back instead of shooting.
