Slump continues with cup KO
THE season continues to get worse for Crewe and Nantwich RUFC who were knocked out of the Cheshire Cup on Saturday.
Local rivals Congleton edged home in the torrential rain 9-6.
The low standard of the game was evident by the fact that all scoring came from penalties.
Crewe's current problems resurfaced, highlighted by the inability to win even their own ball in the line-out and their generous disposition to the opposition
Down by nine points at the interval, Steve Teasdale converted two penalties to spark a fightback for Crewe but they crashed out of the season's main competition and will now enter the Cheshire Plate.
They return to league action on November 13 at home to Eagle.
The Thirds recorded a 60 - 0 victory at Eccleshall while the Fourths drew 5 - 5 at Bowdon, last Saturday.
The Veterans visited Bowdon and won by 18 -12 with tries from Rob Foden (2) and Mike Heler.
