A MARTIAL arts group with a friendly, family appeal has snatched back a prestigious county award.
The Littler Cup has returned to the Victoria Judo Club's trophy cupboard. It was there the year before last.
"We lost it in 1998, but now we've got it back again and we are all delighted." said a spokesman.
The success highlights the close relationships at the club, with gold, silver and bronze medals going to members of several families; brothers and sisters - mums and dads.
They beat nine of Cheshire's top clubs, with a winning margin of three points.
The Crewe medal winners were: Gold - Peter Smith, Ben Edwards, Clinton Royle and Helen Dougherty.
Silver - James Sambrook, Andrew McAuley, Rachel Royle, Charlotte Wood, Greg Shepherd and William Tonks.
Bronze - Jen Dougherty, Jen Edwards, Daniel McAuley, Dominic Moore, Libby Blake and Michael Clarke.
In the Senior Lightweights Matthew Clarke won a gold medal and Alan Edwards took silver. Diane Royal was second in the Women's Lightweights.
The club trains on Tuesdays 6.45pm-8.30pm at the Oakley Centre and on Fridays 7pm-8.30pm at Shavington Youth Club. New members are welcome.
