A CANADIAN woman is trying to track down her English relatives who she believes may be living in Winsford.

Her father Joseph Warburton, who originated from Wharton, was placed in a Northwich workhouse at the age of two and was later shipped to Canada to be placed with a farmer when he was 14 years old.

It was Joseph's ambition to trace his family - but he died before he could accomplish this and now his daughter is trying to fulfil his dream.

She is looking for Joe's sisters, Olive, who was born in 1907, and Mary Alice, born in 1910 in Wharton or Northwich.

Their mother was Edith Warburton, nee Hatton, who later married James Gresty, and their father, John William Warburton.

All the family were placed in a Northwich workhouse in December 1911 on the death of their father.
