I WOULD like to start a campaign to get a proper name for our bridge. Other towns and cities across the world have famous bridges, Golden Gate Bridge, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Manhatten Bridge. And even on our own shores we have the Humber bridge, Fourth Bridge,Thames Bridge and the Cliften suspension bridge.
All are named after their rivers, nearby cities or people who designed them. What do we have, Widnes-Runcorn Bridge. I bet it took them all night to think of that.
My campaign is to get a real name for our bridge, after all it is something we should take some pride in. Maybe a change in colour wouldn't go a miss (red), am I asking a bit much?
