ANOTHER successful season sees the Tigers Open Age gain promotion to Division Four of the new NWC ARL.

This year also starts with a new playing venue and training base at Prescot Road which includes excellent facilities such as the use of the changing rooms and showers on training nights and, come the dark nights, a floodlit area.

The coaching staff for training and for this coming season will be Peter Doyle and Emosi Koloto.

Summer training has already begun and takes place on Tuesday and Thursdays at Prescot Road at 6.30pm.

All current players are asked to attend and old and new will be made welcome, so why not come along and join a winning team?

All this season home games will be at Prescot Road playing fields.

Our main base is the Appleton Arms.

We would also welcome any past Tigers coaches or budding coaches who would relish a fresh challenge to coach a junior 13 or youth 16 side in preparation for our annual French tour in Anse at Easter 2001.

If you are interested phone Peter Doyle on 0151 424 0501.

This year's Open Age awards held at the Appleton Arms went to clubman Mick Abbott, most improved player J Mellor, joint player of the year K Roscoe and S Rooney and player's player K Roscoe.

Ten year awards went to Martin Duggan and Shaun Rooney, and for his services to rugby league in Widnes, Peter Doyle who has coached the Tigers Open Age for many years and is an excellent coach.

Many of his ex-players are now professionals playing in the Super League/

And a big thank you to all our sponsors for last season, and I hope to see you all this forthcoming season.
